Overview

This website is a purely informational site. It sets no cookies, embeds no third-party content and performs no analytics or reach measurement. Personal data is therefore processed in only two places: in the technically necessary server log files of the host, and when you write or call me of your own accord.

No data protection officer has been appointed

The statutory requirements for appointing a data protection officer under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG are not met. If you have questions about data protection, please contact us directly using the contact details above.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted on Azure Static Web Apps, a service of Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland). When a page is accessed, data is automatically transmitted to the server and stored in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • name and URL of the retrieved file
  • amount of data transferred and notification of a successful retrieval
  • referrer URL
  • browser type and version as well as the operating system used

This processing is technically necessary to deliver the website, ensure its stability and defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. This data is not merged with other data sources, nor is it evaluated for marketing or analytics purposes.

The host processes this data as a processor; the processing takes place on the basis of a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Delivery takes place via a globally distributed network of edge locations. Your request may therefore also be answered and logged outside the European Union. Insofar as data is transferred to a third country in the process, the transfer is based on the EU standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR and on the provider's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Contact by e-mail and telephone

If you send me an e-mail or call me, I process the data transmitted in the process — depending on the channel, your name, your e-mail address or telephone number as well as the content of your message — solely to handle your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry serves to initiate or perform a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

I delete this data as soon as your enquiry has been conclusively resolved and no statutory retention obligations prevent this. Retention periods under commercial and tax law — in particular under § 257 HGB and § 147 AO — remain unaffected.

Please note that the transmission of unencrypted e-mails may present security gaps. Complete protection against access by third parties is not possible by this route.

No cookies, no tracking, no external content

This website deliberately does without anything that lets data flow to third parties:

  • No cookies are set and no data is stored in your browser's local storage or session storage.
  • No analytics or tracking tools are used, neither our own nor those of third parties.
  • Fonts, icons, images, style sheets and scripts are served exclusively from our own server. In particular, no Google Fonts and no content delivery networks are embedded.
  • There are no maps, videos, social-media plug-ins, chat windows or other embedded third-party content.

For this reason the website also requires no consent banner. External links, for example in the imprint, are recognisable as such and are only accessed once you click them; the respective provider is responsible for the data processing on the linked pages.

Encrypted transmission

The website is delivered exclusively over a TLS-encrypted connection (recognisable by “https://” in the address bar and the padlock symbol in your browser). The data transmitted between your browser and the server therefore cannot be read by third parties.

Your rights

With regard to the personal data concerning you, you have the following rights:

  • access to the processed data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

You may withdraw consent once given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). The lawfulness of the processing carried out up to the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR: Insofar as I process data on the basis of a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to that processing. I will then no longer process the data concerned unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

An informal message to the contact details above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Without prejudice to other remedies, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR). You may address the supervisory authority of your habitual residence or place of work; for me as controller, the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Saxony-Anhalt in Magdeburg is responsible.

No automated decision-making

Automated decision-making including profiling under Art. 22 GDPR does not take place.
